Geotechnical Investigation and Soils and Materials Inspection and Testing Services for Stauffer Middle School Classroom Buildings (2021-2023)
The project included the construction of two new two-story classroom buildings, with an area of approximately 4,490 and 3,850 square feet for the northeast building and the southwest building, respectively. The proposed new classroom buildings are located within Stauffer Middle School in the City of Downey, California. The proposed developments also included a new parking area, lunch shelter, hardscape, and landscape. GAI provided a geotechnical investigation for the project which included conducting two percolation tests, conducting one Refraction Microtremor (ReMi) survey to determine the shear-wave velocity profile, performing laboratory testing on selected soil samples obtained from our exploratory borings, reviewing the field data and laboratory test results, performing engineering analyses, and preparing a final geotechnical and geohazard report.
GAI also provided during construction geotechnical and materials inspection and testing and performed continuous and periodic inspections.
