Pavement Evaluation, Monitoring, and Inspection for Rehabilitation of S. Eastern Avenue (2014-2015)
Eastern Avenue is a major corridor in the City of Commerce, with heavy vehicle and truck traffic connecting to the I-5 Freeway. The existing pavement had faced some major distress and the city intended to replace/overlay the pavement with proper methods. By using reclaimed asphalt concrete pavement solution and Cold Central Plant Recycling (CCPR) asphalt in place of traditional approaches, the project ultimately cost $1.5M, which saved about 40% of the original budget.
We provided geotechnical engineering services for the evaluation of the existing asphalt condition at S. Eastern Avenue, between Stevens Place and Bandini Boulevard. Our team of field engineers and inspectors also performed during construction monitoring and inspection services for the project.
