Geotechnical Services for G-Line BRT (2022-Ongoing)
The LA Metro G-Line BRT project, a progressive design-build project is currently in the design and preconstruction phase. The project will upgrade the existing 18-mile line running through San Fernando Valley, and the project’s key elements include:
- Grade Separation and Aerial Station at Sepulveda Blvd
- Grade Separation and Aerial Station at Van Nuys Blvd / Vesper Ave
- Railroad-style gated Intersections for At-Grade Crossings
- Stormwater Capture Systems
- Bike Path Improvements
GAI, as a subconsultant to Parsons and a part of the Valley Transit Partners – a Joint Venture of Stacy and Witbeck, Inc., Flatiron West, and the Modern Railway Systems team, is providing geotechnical services for the project. The services GAI provides include field exploration for three bridges/grade separations with about 1.0 miles in length, aerial stations, MSE walls, pavement improvements, and comprehensive field percolation tests at multiple locations. GAI prepared preliminary geotechnical design and foundation reports for different elements of the project and is working with the design team toward the completion of the final design.
